For sufficient luminosity, I will not recommend a less powerful LED-strip than this one. This one however is OK. For the kitchen cabinets, you could consider an even more powerful strip than this one, if you want really bright light for working on the kitchen table.
This LED-strip is white (the color of the strip itself, not the color of the light) and blends nicely when attached on a white background. You can also find similar LED-strips of copper color, which might look better on e.g. wooden or brown background.
You need an LED-converter to power this LED-strip. I recommend a powerfull converter, because I already blew up 2 converters with a spec. of 18 W, although the strip connected used only 10.2 W.
The connection to the converter is relatively easy if you are used to connect cables. If you need to cut the LED-strip into smaller pieces, you will need to solder wires on the strip to connect them.
