I bought this to be able to charge my iPad while using an external USB sound card. Unfortunately it is restricted to 900mA according to the package. It won't charge an iPad: not via the USB connector and not via the 5V DC input. More remarkably, I also can't get my iPhone to charge in either way. That's a real pity, because it would have been a nice solution.
