The sound is nice quality if you are realistic in your expectations. It will easily fill a small to medium sized room with music as long as you do not want eardrum splitting volume. At the highest setting there is distortion, and a bit of a tinny sound from the aluminum speaker. Below the highest setting the sound is clear and much fuller then standard smart phone, tablet, or laptop speakers. I do not care for the 18” Mini USB to USB/3.5mm audio cable. Audio in must go through this cable if you want to play music from a smart phone, tablet, or laptop, etc. Other portable speakers use this cable system too. It just seems extra bulky with such small speaker. I would much prefer a dedicated 3.5mm audio in. This has a 3.5mm audio out. Putting a headphone jack on a speaker so it can be used as an MP3 player with headphones just seems a bit redundant to me.
The FM is a novel feature, but the 18” cable I mentioned above needs to be plugged in to act as an antenna. You will also need to be in an area that gets good FM signals. The Micro SD enables a person to load music onto a Micro SD card and use this device free of any cables.
This little speaker has a very solid feel and a good bit of weight for it small size.
I would not personally want to use it outdoors with all of its open ports.
It is a nice little travel speaker and it is also a nice little speaker for people that have very limited space.
