This is the second example of this style of light I have. Compared to the Raysoon TD398, the shape is less comfortable to hold because the knurling is not as effective, but the mode selection is better because it always starts in high mode, while the Raysoon has next mode memory. The two are similar in output, within the usual individual variation in brightness and color.
This shape and design seem to be due to Nitecore and Sipik, but have become standard as the 1 X AA/14500 Sipik SK68 clones. This larger 18650 style is also available in various brands, including Sipik SK98. It has advantages including good grip and good cooling for the (heat sensitive) led. The larger size allows a better combination of brightness and run time.
