I bought 1 of these as my laptop only has one ethernet controller and I wanted to have a second one for testing and configuration of network devices. It seems to work quite well for my purposes, but watch out, it's only a usb 1.1 device. That doesn't matter for me, but if you need more then 10Mbit buy something else.
