Our bedroom did not originally have sconces but we wanted to install some with our remodel. We were willing to hardwire them but didn\t want to install a wall switch too because we aren\t electricians! These come with an on/off directly ON the lamp, which was the perfect solution for us. We bought and installed the khaki color, but there are so many pretty colors to choose from! I love the gold embellishment\s, and they look great with the Edison bulbs.
