I tried this as soon as it arrived and the heat from it is rapid. Almost immediately I plugged it in I could feel the heat on my knee. There are 3 different heat functions that you get to just by pressing the button once, twice or three times. Also inside the knee brace is a compartment for an ice pack should you need to freeze the knee. This can also be used on the thigh, calf or shoulder should you need pain relief.
